Search as a Service for Business Direcotry

Our client is large business directory offering localized business listing for 10+ countries. In total it has more than 10,000,000+ businesses listed. Search for related keywords is the most convenient way for the visitors to find the listing they are looking for. The website was using mysql fulltext search to provide results. The queries used for the search were slow due to large size of data, and results were inaccurate. When client reached to us we proposed to use our search as a service which is based on Sphinx Search. We customized the search as per their business needs and exposed the API. Via this API client’s team was able to integrate the location based search into multiple websites for the directory.
