Search as a Service for osCommerce Store

Our client is famous online store for electric supplies in UK. The store is based on heavily customized osCommerce. The site was using default osCommerce search. This search was slow as there were more than 300,000 products. Beside the search the navigation was very slow as well due to the high number of products. In near future client wanted to dump the osCommerce and create a new custom website. Keeping that in mind, we built the search on a new code base using Yii 2 and Sphinx Search which is accessible via API. This was the search became independent on the existing legacy code and can also be consumed by new website. Client’s team integrated the new search and navigation on the existing website via API. We manage the search server and API for the client. The search can be seen in action here
