Project Description

Our client is a online community to share lasting side effects from pharmaceuticals and provide support platform to support patients and promote awareness. The website is based on wordpress and has thousands of articles and growing number of discussions. The website uses BBPress and BuddyPress plugins to enable discussions and social networking. The site was using default WordPress search which was not accurate and causing performance issues for website. To improve the search we implemented Solr to replace default search. Solr was selected as it integrates well with WordPress due to multiple available plugins. By utilizing our expertise in Solr and Wordperss both, we customized the search further and did fine tune relevancy. We implemented facets so the users are able to filter their desired results from forums, post and articles. The result was faster and accurate search. The search can be seen in action here
