Project Description
Our client is a large online store which offers door & cabinet furniture, bathroom fitting and kitchen furniture from famous brands. The store is based on custom PHP. They have 1000s of the products to offer. The store was using default mysql fulltext matching for search. This search was not accurate and was slow. Client reached us to have a fast and accurate search. We implemented Sphinx Search to replace mysql fulltext search. The challenging part was managing different attributes and finishes in Sphinx. We implemented facets for brands, finishes, categories, width, drill point etc. After implementation of sphinx search the search results became accurate and fast. The search can be seen here.
